This past weekend, the first Festival of Chariots (Ratha Yatra) of the year at Daytona on March 15, 2025 was a spectacular festival, with a captivating play by the Orlando devotees and the free distribution of prasadam, sanctified food. The parade exhibited the community spirit as hundreds gathered to pull Lord Jaganath, Baladeva and Subhadra along the beach shore. As the chariot was pulled along the route, teenagers and young devotees took charge of the kirtan, leading the crowd with powerful and energetic dancing and chanting. Their eagerness and dedication infused onlookers to join and dance to the Holy Name.
The Festival of Chariots as always creates an opportunity for many books to be distributed. Many bystanders who stopped later joined to ask and participate in conversations about the movement and the teaching of Srila Prabhupada.
